The Football Protege'

Aiden and Daddy both sharing quality time watching a couple of people kicking some ball around, trying to get it into a goal. Iskh... I still do not understand the purpose of this game.

Aiden shall miss Daddy when he leaves for Singapore in exactly 5 hours. Sob sob. Uwaaaa... Mummy pulak yang lebih...

Reminiscing a Baby Shower

Was browsing through my long list of “Blogs I Read” and suddenly my index finger clicked on a particular blog that I have not read for quite a while. The owner of this blog was responsible for the nyummy-licious cake for my baby shower. Take my word for it, Kak Shashue is one creative lady! And while I was browsing around in her blog, I came across an entry specially dedicated to me *perasan*. Actually, specially dedicated to my cake... Click here!

Allow me to reminisce... It was nearly two weeks to the designated date, and every cake shop I approached would not entertain my request for a custom made cake for my baby shower. I was so desperate, I emailed a few floggers who specialize in cupcakes and cakes. Again, no go. Until one of them recommended that I visit Kak Shashue’s Flickr album. While clicking through, I realized in a shock that she is actually my neighbour’s sister! Of course, my pleads for a baby shower cake was entertained, and in return I gave her the free reign to design whatever she wanted. And the result was simply fabulous!

So enjoy the pictures from the past, of my baby shower...

A baby shower to welcome Aiden Irfan...

Mummy and Daddy were super duper excited back then...

The fabulous cake by Kak Shashue!

Booties inspired cupcakes.. nyummy!

The crowd of only my closest friends. Could not invite more due to insufficient space!

I was carrying 25kgs around back then. Swollen feet, chubby cheeks. I was around 34 weeks pregnant and had a double chin. So don't want to post a close up picture of myself!

One of the baby games we played during the baby shower. Hilarious!

My very sporting friends hard at work answering the tough baby questions!

Boxes wrapped my myself and hubby, while the blue ribbon was glued by Awien. Bravo to us, we slept at 3am making 35 of these goody boxes..

The last remaining gurly top (sold all when I found out that the baby is a BOY instead of a girl)... so the teddy gets a brand new Baby Gap top!

First baby item that we bought way back in 2006 at the Victoria Market in Australia (yes yes, Mummy is very well prepared..). The shop lady wanted to know whether the sheepskin shoes were for a baby girl/boy, obviously we didn't know which - so we bought a neutral colour, BROWN!

The teddy with the snow cap that gave his name away. Kecoh everyone excited over the name. Haha!

This Is It

Yup, we did it. After a 6 month hiatus from the cinema scene, we made a comeback with a big BANG! By watching MJ's This Is It. So this is it - the resurrection of regular movie dates ala ala masih baru kahwin and tak sedar diri dah jadi parents!!!

Anyway, before I delve into the details about the movie, let me first say, Happy Birthday Boy Boy! OMG dah tua!

This is my brother aka the Birthday Boy. We celebrated his birthday by having lunch at Tony Romas. He had steak. Rugi woo...

He should have had this. Their signature scrumptious beef ribs *telan air liur*. Thank god it was lunch so I could actually have a bite instead of having my protein shake.

See how much Awien is enjoying her food? Dah la tak offer jagung. Kena order sendiri. Iskh.

Mummy passed Aiden to Aunty Awien so that Mummy could have a decent meal.

Butterfingers Awien couldn't even manage to take a decent picture of us.

So after lunch, I tagged along Awien and Boy Boy in hunt for THE perfect birthday present. Boy wanted a pair of sneakers. So, guess where they all went? Gucci.

Yup, Gucci. Do you know that a pair of shoes in Gucci costs as much as a Coach handbag on sale? Hmm... I rest my case.

After leaving Boy Boy frustrated in Gucci for not having those sneakers in his size (I think Awien was secretly praying thank God!), we rushed home to drop Aiden with Bibik. We were actually going to go watch a movie!!! *clap*clap*clap* Hubby was darn excited. He is a massive fan of MJ. Me? I was just really happy that we were going to watch (any) movie!

And the movie was great. As a fellow neighbour commented, Orianthi is a guitar goddess. But somehow, I prefer the lady with the frizzy hair who could sing the house down. I like her confident attitude. Its like, when you see her - you think she's a typical quiet Asian (must be the eyes). But instead, she's like that lady Asian doctor in Greys Anatomy. Alah... ape name dia???

During the movie, a little boy waddled his way around the cinema and landed right beside my seat. I could see that his mum had popped the binky in his mouth to make sure that he keeps quiet while the movie was playing. But kesian, he was really bored. By the end of the movie he was already banging on the popcorn tub. Hmm... I wonder, when IS a suitable age to bring Aiden to the movies? Don't really know how many more of these movie dates I am ready to go to, as I kept feeling guilty for leaving Aiden behind.

Right after the movie we rushed home................... to find Aiden fast asleep:

OMG so kesian lah Mummy's Boy! He must have missed us so much that he tried looking for us under the couch!

Another Saturday in Cahaya SPK

Saturday arrives, and it is yet again another day for meeting contractors. This is the 3rd Saturday (in a row) that we have arranged for appointments with ID designers. This time around, we had scheduled 2 ID companies and 2 contractors to view our house for a quotation.

Nothing much has changed since the previous Saturday we were there. At the pace they're going, I don't know how they are going to keep to their promise of delivering the keys by the middle of the month.

We are starting to get quotations left and right from the numerous ID teams that we've met. For the renovation we are doing plus some interior design and external landscaping, the cheapest quote was nearly 150K. When we heard this, we nearly died.

The whole stretch of fences surrounding the Precinct has been painted white. In a way, it kinda hides the horrible PE doesn't it?

Finally the pebble stones arrive. Pebble stones are used to cover all extenal piping in the garden.

They have unwrapped the Jacuzzi! When hubby saw this, he said "This is going to be our oversized laundry basket" Haha...

Whee, we have water! We don't even remember when we signed the documents for electricity and water. Must be when we signed the SPA. Hmm... *tak ingat*!

As usual, after returning home from a visit to Cahaya SPK, we would be all excited about starting our renovation, moving in and decorating the house. And hubby, an ardent artist, was set about coming up with his own drawings. Very unlike me , who can barely draw a strawman.

Hubby hard at work, pouring his ideas on paper.

Hubby's 3D perspective on how the landscape for our pergola and garden would look like. He drew this in, erm, say 5 minutes? *kagum*

The plan view of our (extended) living room, renovated patio and dining hall. The only thing I drew were the sofa and dining set.

The plan view of our (extended) master bedroom, living hall and Aiden's room. I drew nearly 70% of this. Which explains why it looks hideous. Oh, and this is an adjusted drawing. The original one allocated less than a quarter of the bedroom for my closet. After much coaxing, hubby finally relented and agreed to give me a bigger walk in closet. Woohoo! However, in return, I had to forgo the closet in the 3rd bedroom *sigh*

Hubby's 3D perspective of our dry kitchen. The only thing I drew was the kepala paip. Should we add a breakfast bar to this? Hmm...

Well that's about it. We'll be in the area again next Saturday for the 4th round of interior designers. Hopefully this will be the last Saturday of meeting IDs, and we can finally make an educated decision about which to pick! Then hubby can depart to Singapore in peace.

Yes, hubby is being posted to Singapore for work for a whole year. After being patient with me being an offshore wifey for the past 2 years, this is his time to "return the favour". *sigh*

And yes, you don't have to tell me. This is not the end of our renovation and moving in misery.
